New achievements of our team of specialists “Portage”! For several years, the Center for Promoting Family Education”Doverie”(Moscow) has been constantly working on the “Portage” method with the wards of the Center for promoting family education. Among them are children with severe and multiple developmental disabilities, those who are commonly referred to as”untrained”. Vladimir K. has cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia, PVDD. After a year and a half of training, the child began to smile, climb the stairs independently, wash and put items in a box…Maxim B. (down’s Syndrome, speech underdevelopment, CHD) developed self-service skills, he learned to repeat individual syllables and movements after the teacher. In February 2020, the leading specialist of the Center “Doverie” Yulia Ivanova shared with colleagues the successful experience of using the “Portage” method, as part of the training seminar “Basic principles of the “Portage” method in individual work with children with disabilities” in Kostroma, organized by the Diema’s Dream Fund.
The “Portage” method is an effective method that allows you to teach children with severe and multiple developmental disabilities basic and vital skills.
