Diagnosis: Cerebral palsy syndrome, spastic tetraparesis (due to perinatal CNS lesion of hypoxic-hemorrhagic genesis), GMFCS grade 5, mental retardation, structural focal epilepsy, with non-epileptic myoclonus, hypercalcemia, nephrocalcinosis.
Due to the difficult epidemiological situation, as well as the recommendations of the attending physician, in connection with the remission of epilepsy, the place of Misha’s planned rehabilitation was changed by the protocol of the commission of the charitable program of targeted assistance «Step Towards» from the rehabilitation course at the RC “Take a Step”, Moscow, worth 171,000.00 rubles for a rehabilitation course at OOO «Valeologiya» (Ivanovo regional center of physiotherapy exercises and sports medicine), in the city of Ivanovo, at a cost of 149,000.00 rubles.
After the rehabilitation course, it is expected that: the child will acquire new skills, play and move independently, become stronger, improve head retention, and become more sociable.
From mom’s letter:
“Our son Misha has been fighting for a happy childhood since birth. We spent almost three years in hospitals and rehabilitation centers, unfortunately, Misha is still far behind in development. Misha does not hold his head as confidently as he should, but he tries very hard! He really likes to sit on his own, of course, with the help of his mother. Also, with the help of his mother, he can be kept on all fours for a short time and even stand! Misha does not speak yet, but he makes separate sounds. I can see from the eyes of my son that he really wants to be able to move more independently! Our achievements so far are side flips and crawling attempts.
Every day it is getting harder and harder to take care of Misha, as the baby grows. The diagnosis of cerebral palsy cannot be treated, so continuous rehabilitation courses will help make the child’s life easier.
We hope that Misha will acquire new skills. That he will play and move around the house on his own, thereby freeing his mother’s hands.
