On the eve of her birthday, the famous Russian artist Anna Birshtein donated eight paintings to the Diema’s Dream charity foundation for the wards of the Bobrovsky orphanage (Pskov region) and the Center for Curative Pedagogy and Differentiated Education in Pskov.

Anna Maksovna has been the Trustee of the Foundation for many years and has long dreamed that her works would decorate the lives of young children – our wards.

Children with severe and multiple developmental disabilities (TMDD) often find themselves in social isolation due to their physical limitations. For example, the Bobrovsky orphanage is located very far from the infrastructure of a big city. Children often do not leave the walls of the lead in a long way. The bright works of Anna Birshten will add color, light, warmth and joy to the lives of children and staff.

Pictures for children with disabilities attending rehabilitation courses and classes at the Center for Curative Pedagogy in Pskov will also become a source of joy and a lot of positive emotions. After all, even here these flowers will give their beauty to children, their parents and specialists.

Anna Maksovna Birshtein was born in 1947 in Moscow in the family of artists Max Birshtein and Nina Vatolina.

In 1973 she graduated from the Moscow Art Institute named after V.I.Surikov, where she studied with A.M. Gritsai and D.D. Zhilinsky. According to Birshtein herself, the institute “was very boring, because everything that was possible at our age, we learned at school.” Two years later she was admitted to the Union of Artists of the USSR.

Participant of numerous group exhibitions, including abroad. The first significant personal exhibition took place in 2003 (“School of Life …” in the “New Manezh”)in 2011, as well as in 2019 at the House of Artists, Kuznetsky Most, 11 … The canvases are kept in various museums in Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Switzerland, Germany, etc.

Anna Birshtein’s works are kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, as well as in many other museums and collections.
