In April over the weekend of the 22nd-23rd, a festival was held which went by the name of “Easter Gift”, where a roller skate park company called “Ski Dream” had one of our grown children Sergey Trunov – who was not afraid of rain, gladly roller bladed around the area with the help of a walker on wheels. Sergey overcame his fear and had a wonderful time!
Sergey had severe clubbed feet. However, at the age of nine he was sent to the USA to have surgery on his feet. As a result, he now moves freely around Moscow. Yet this day was momentous as it was his first time on roller blades.
At first this new experience scared him, but due to his belief in himself and the support of the very experienced instructor Nikita from “Ski Dream on Roller Blades”, he was able to enjoy the ride. In addition, he watched other skaters with special needs and this also gave him confidence to try this new activity.
Despite the harsh weather, Sergey will remember the evening of April 22nd for a long time coming – the fear of “falling” has been conquered!
