“Portage” working with “special children” in the Southern Butovo Center

We continue to talk about the success of the Portage pilot projects! Today is a story about a wonderful team from the Southern Butovo Central Center. In the framework of the project “the Practice of Portage”, there is a daily and laborious work with 6 children with different disabilities. And there are already excellent results: Alina H.( Cerebral palsy, mental retardation) has mastered self-service and socialization skills, dresses and fastens herself, can show 12 familiar objects, fold a matryoshka from several parts, and has learned to stand on one leg almost without support! And Dina S. (Cerebral palsy, CPR) has learned to squat and straighten, puts on shoes on her own,and even tries to walk backwards!
These examples confirm the high effectiveness of the “Portage” method for working with children with severe and multiple developmental disorders. We are glad that the number of specialists using the “Portage” method in their work is constantly growing.
