Diema’s Dream Fund became one of 56 winners of the major anti-crisis contest of the Potanin Foundation called ‘New Dimension’, aimed at strengthening and developing the non-profit sector. In March 2020 Vladimir Potanin donated one billion rubles to help NPOs due to the pandemic. A total of 681 applications were submitted to the competition, 508 applications were approved for the expert evaluation.
‘While planning the contest, we were focusing on strengthening the positions of NPOs, giving them the opportunity to determine the direction of their further development and provide support to the people who work there. The choice made by the expert council was very difficult – many well-known organizations contacted us, so it was a contest where the best competed with the best. It is worth noting that the organizations that won the competition showed the highest level of professional competence: they do not stop planning their future and expand their activities in the times of crisis. With this work and pursuit of development thousands of people receive timely support’, – noted Oksana Oracheva, General Director of the Foundation.
To support the activities of these organizations, the Potanin Foundation will send 499 million rubles, including 392 million rubles for statutory activities and 107 million rubles for building financial endowments and adding to the existing endowments.
