10 June 2020 marked a significant event in the Portage experts’ community in Russia – the Interregional public organization “Portage Experts Association” was established. Representatives of 15 Portage teams from 5 regions of Russia attended the constitutive meeting. Elena Volodina, the director of the Diema’s Dream Fund, appointed executive director of the organization.
The main objectives of its establishment are:
– improving the quality of life of children with severe and multiple developmental problems and providing social assistance to their parents;
– supporting and protecting the interests of Portage experts;
– maintaining quality standards, complying with the requirements and standards of the Portage method
The Portage Experts Association plans include conducting training seminars and conferences, exchanging experience with Russian and international colleagues, developing and approving professional standards. One of the next steps will be to launch a specialized Internet resource for Portage experts.
