Once again, we brought four orphans from the Elatomsky orphanage (Ryazan region) to the FBMSE clinic in Moscow, so that they could undergo intensive orthopedic treatment and rehabilitation. The children’s scheduled hospital admission happens 2-3 times a year for each child as part of our Verticalization Project.
At the clinic, the children receive individual assessments and a variety of treatments, from drug therapy and acupuncture, to operations. It is simply impossible to obtain such a wide range of professional medical assistance in Elatma. And this type of comprehensive rehabilitation will undoubtedly improve the children’s health.
For example, last time, Lera underwent an operation. At that time, the doctors were amazed by her results: the girl came through the surgery well, and, just as importantly, began to smile and actively respond to other people. Previously, she hadn’t shown any interest or emotions. She now brings us joy with her smile and even readily interacts with people she doesn’t know. This proves, once again, that restoring the body’s natural vertical position contributes to the development of a child’s intellect, emotional wellbeing, and communication skills!
Furthermore, three new children were brought along this time: Valentin, Yana, and Anya, whom the doctors examined in November. Valentin was operated on just a short while ago, and we are looking forward to watching his progress!
As it turned out, Yana cannot eat hospital food, with the exception of dairy products. There also weren’t enough diapers or personal hygiene products brought along with her. As such, we bought everything necessary, at a total cost of 7,644.13 rubles, and handed it over to the hospital. As a result, Yana started to put on weight!
We would like to wholeheartedly thank all the participants of the Verticalization Project for their love towards the children and their professionalism: the doctors at the FBMSE clinic; the staff of Elatomsky orphanage; the Volunteers to Help Orphans Charitable Foundation; and the nurses who provided care for the children during their stay in Moscow! Thanks to Renault Russia for providing us with a vehicle to deliver necessary items to the children!
