Once again the kids from Elatomsky Orphanage for the mentally disabled children need your assistance. In June this year our benefactors helped Diema’s Dream to purchase sweets for the children involved in the “Verticalization” project. Marmalade, pastilles, marshmallow, special biscuits and candy bars are not simply just tasty treats. They are also great incentives to reward the children for their daily efforts in self-improvement and effective motivation for further progress. We are always happy to see how another child, as a result of Verticalization, is standing up on their own feet with our assistants’ help and using special orthopaedic devices. However, this success does not come easy so we seek to encourage and boost the moods of the children after each session.
To continue to support the children’s progress, we regularly donate to the Elatma orphanage special non-crumbling sweets, which are safe for orphans with disabilities. Unfortunately, the supplies brought by the Fund in early summer have already run out so the kids urgently need restocking. Let us all chip in and buy necessary sweets to help them continue being resilient in their efforts as well as give us joy with their progress! For example, a three-month supply of sweets costs 10 000 rub.
One more crucial demand of the orphans in Elatomsky Orphanage is clothes, sheets and washable napkins. The present items are mended by the Orphanage employees themselves on a day-to-day basis. They have learned to easily cope with it by themselves, but the old sewing-machine, which served faithfully for many years, has recently broken down. The vital elements of its mechanism have worn away and cannot be replaced anymore, so in turn the orphanage desperately needs a new sewing-machine. Today analogues and modern versions of the reliable model cost around 7,000 rubles. It is a very modest amount that can help the children to keep well-dressed and supplied with all necessary bed linen for the long run!
Finally, our last regular visit to Elatma with orthopaedists made it clear that in addition to the great toolkit purchased and given to the orphanage earlier thanks to your kind donations, the doctors need some more instruments for the final adjustment of orthopaedic devices and other kinds of on-the-spot work. More specifically, they need the following articles: a drill with a drill bit set, a compact saw and an awl, which is about 8,000 rubles
