Diagnosis: atonic-astatic cerebral palsy, mental retardation.
The baby was born with multiple developmental defects, such as congenital double-sided clubfoot, congenital heart disorder, reflex excitability, thymic hypoplasia, dysembryogenic stigma. Miroslava showed developmental delay. She learnt to hold her head up at 5 months and to roll over when she was 1 year old. Following a doctor’s examination she was diagnosed with the atonic-astatic cerebral palsy and mental retardation.
From her mom’s letter: “Our daughter is now 4 years old. She goes swimming, does physical therapy exercises and takes courses of bipolar impulse electrical stimulation and reflexology. Due to intensive rehabilitation courses Miroslava learnt to sit on her own, to stand up on her hands and knees as well as walk holding somebody’s hand. She said her first words! All of those are huge achievements for us as she is eager to walk and talk”.
The problem is that rehabilitation courses are expensive. The family has run out of money. Mira demonstrates amazing results and she mustn’t stop, by no means!
